ABSTRACT

Objective To study the chemical constituents from the whole plants of Pteris semipinnata. Methods The chemical constituents were isolated by silica gel, sephadex LH-20, ODS, macroporous resin, MCI Gel resin and semi-preparation HPLC. Their structures were determined on the basis of NMR and MS analysis. Results Twenty compounds were isolated and identified as apigenin (1), apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (2), apigenin-7-O-β-D-gentiobioside (3), apigenin-7-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl-4′-O-α- L-rhamnopyranoside (4), isoviolanthin (5), luteolin (6), luteoloside (7), luteolin-7-O-β-D-gentiobioside (8), quercetin-3-O-β-D- glucopyranoside (9), kaempferol-3-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (10), rutin (11), epigallocatechin (12), pinoresinol-4-O-β-D- glucopyranoside (13), phillyrin (14), bergeninum (15), protocatechuic acid (16), trans-caffeic acid (17), gallic acid (18), β-sitosterol (19), and β-daucosterol (20). Conclusion Compounds 3, 5, 12, 13, and 15—18 are isolated from the plants of Pteris, and 2—5, 8—13, and 15—20 are isolated from this plant for the first time.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents from the water extract of Rhodiola wallichiana. Methods: The chemical constituents were isolated by repeated dynamic axial compression chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, and prep-HPLC, and their structures were identified by the basis of spectral data analysis. Results: Eleven compounds were isolated from the water extract and identified to be gallic acid (1), syringic acid (2), tyrosol (3), salidroside (4), 3,4- dihydroxybenzoic acid (5), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid (6), 4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid (7), p-coumaric acid (8), p-coumaric acid-4-O-β-D- glucopyranoside (9), benzyl-O-β-D-glucopyranodide (10), piceoside (11), dihydroconiferin (12), bergeninum (13), rhodiocyanoside A (14), and 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (15). Conclusion: Compounds 7 and 15 are isolated from the plants of Rhodiola L. for the first time, and compounds 5-6, 8-12, and 14 are obtained from R. wallichiana for the first time.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To develop an HPLC-DAD-ELSD method for the determination of nitidine chloride, 5-ethoxychelerythrine, bergeninum and ardisiacrispin A in Shangtong tinctures ( STD) . Methods: A Hypersil C18 column was used as the chromatographic column, the flow rate was 0. 8 ml·min-1 . For nitidine chloride and 5-ethoxychelerythrine, the mobile phase A consisted of acetoni-trile,the mobile phase B consisted of 0. 1% formic acid-triethylamine (pH 4. 5),and the DAD detection wavelength was at 273 nm. For bergeninum and ardisiacrispin A, the mobile phase consisted of methanol-water(25∶75), the temperature of drift tube was set at 95℃, and the gas flow (N2) was set at 2. 5 SLPM·min-1. Results:There was a good linear relationship between the concentration and peak area for nitidine chloride and 5-ethoxychelerythrine within the range of 0. 021-0. 426 μg (r=0. 999 5) and 0. 075-1. 494 μg (r=0. 999 8), respectively. The average recovery was 99. 22%(RSD=0. 64%) and 98. 61%(RSD=0. 46%), respectively. There was a good linear relationship between the concentration and peak area for bergeninum and ardisiacrispin A within the range of 0. 215-4. 304 μg(r=0. 999 3) and 0. 286-5. 728 μg(r=0. 999 7), respectively. The average recovery was 99. 15%(RSD=0. 77%) and 99. 25%(RSD=0. 56%) accordingly. Conclusion:The method is accurate, sensitive and reproducible, and can be used in the de-termination of nitidine chloride, 5-ethoxychelerythrine, bergeninum and ardisiacrispin A in STD.
